Skellefteå (Sweden), 8 March 2014 – With over night rain, gusting wind, and occasional bouts of sunshine, it was a race against the elements today in Skellefteå, Sweden as the riders geared up for the one and only round of the FIM Snowcross World Championship. Although the circuit proved to be very testing indeed, it wasn’t enough to slow down the Swedish snowcross hero Adam Renheim from taking his second consecutive FIM Snowcross World Championship title. Meanwhile in the FIM Women’s World Cup class, Elina Öhman ran away with the race to claim her first ever World Cup, nineteen seconds clear of the next best rider.

SKELLEFTEÅ (Sweden), 08 March 2014 - Practice and qualifying kicked off yesterday in Skellefteå, Sweden for the FIM Snowcross World Championship. Thanks to the unusual climate at this time of year, snow had to be imported to build the track, which proved to be extra challenging this year due to the glorious sunshine and warm six-degree temperatures.

The Entry Lists of the FIM SnowCross World Championship and FIM Women’s SnowCross World Cup Entry Lists, which will take place in Skellefteå, Sweden on the 8th March is now official and can be found here below.

FUNCHAL (Portugal), 28 February 2014 - Since Youthstream took over the rights to the Snowcross World Championship in 2011 they have strived to push Snowcross to a whole new level. This year, the championship was supposed to be held over two rounds, one in Skelleftea, Sweden and the other in Tuuri, Finland. Unfortunately, due to climate changes, there is currently no snow in Tuuri, Finland, meaning the second round of the 2014 FIM Snowcross World Championship has been cancelled. Nevertheless, Youthstream and the FIM are proud to announce the round of Skelleftea, Sweden, will go on and a Women’s division has also been included.
